Abigail Marie Clancy Bio

Abigail Marie Clancy, born 10 January 1986, is an English model of lingerie as well as catwalk model. She was the runner-up of Britain's Next Top Model (cycle 2) in 2006 and was the winner of series eleven of Strictly Come Dancing in 2013. Since 2015, she has been Britain’s Next Top Model. Clancy was born in Liverpool. She is the second oldest child of four siblings, Karen (nee Sullivan), Geoffrey Thomas Clancy. Clancy was born in Woolton, an area in Liverpool. She was a student at St Mary's Primary School, as well as St Julie's Catholic High school. Clancy formed the girl group Genie Queen, which was directed by Andy McCluskey (Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark). Clancy was among thirteen finalist for Living TV's Britain’s Next Top Model's second cycle in the year 2006. She competed over 10 weeks to win a modeling contract. Clancy was joined by Lianna Fowler for the final runway show, and was the winner. After appearing on Britain's Next Top Model, Clancy was a model for a variety of newspapers and magazines. Clancy modelled the Triumph Bonneville Motorbike and was on the cover for Arena magazine in May 2007. Clancy was chosen for Sports Illustrated magazine's swimsuit edition 2010. Clancy was chosen due to her sporting connections to Peter Crouch. Clancy was photographed in body paint for the magazine, to appear as if she was wearing an England shirt. Yu Tsai shot the photographs. Clancy wore an England shirt in Umbro's campaign in 2010, as well as other girlfriends and wives of footballers from winning countries. Clancy walked for Giles Deacon Ready-To-Wear Giles Spring 2011. She was a part of London designer Hasan Hejazi’s campaign for July 2013. The editorial was shot created by Absynth Photographyic, and the fashion film was directed by Gabriel Gettman. Clancy also modelled for the August 2011 cover of UK Esquire shot by photographer Solve Sundsbo. Clancy was also featured in LOVE magazine's Advent Calendar along with Suki waterhouse and Cara Delevingne. In July 2014, Clancy appeared on the cover of British Marie Claire and in March 2015, British Elle. Abbey Clancy and Sophia Crouch Their daughter, Sophia Crouch, worked together for the Launch of Lipsy's AW'19 collection. The AW'19 collection officially launched in the UAE in January 2020.
